Analytics Projects Portlet Template - Preferences

The Analytics Projects portlet reports access statistics for Collaboration Server projects. The following sections describe the attributes that you can set to customize the report.

Note: The graphic chart displays a maximum of 25 data points, beginning with the first in time. For example, if you configure settings for a bar chart report for a duration of 3 days and group by hour, your request is for 72 data points; only the first 25 hours are displayed in the bar chart. However, when you export data for the report to Excel, the report includes all 72 data points.

Display Options

These settings allow you to specify the display format and to select the projects to appear in the report.

You can choose to display your report in the following formats:

You can select the following sets of projects or specify your own custom set.

Selection	Description
Top Projects	Displays the projects with the most events for the selected event type. You can specify that you want to display the top 5, 10, 15, or 20 projects.
Bottom Projects	Displays the projects with the least events for the selected event type. You can specify that you want to display the bottom 5, 10, 15, or 20 projects.
Specify Project	Displays access statistics for a specific project or multiple projects. When you select this option, click Browse to choose the project you want to display.

You can specify the following statistics.

Option	Description
Document Views	Includes data on the number of times a document is viewed.
Document Uploads	Includes data on the number of times a document is uploaded.
Message Posts	Includes data on the number of message posts in a project.

Filter Options

You can filter the report according to the following properties.

Filter Type	Description
Date Range	Allows you to filter data based on a range of dates. If you select Specify date range, you can choose the start and end date.
Authentication Source	Allows you to filter data based on the authentication source.
User Property	Allows you to filter data based on the user properties defined in your portal. After selecting the desired property, select Contains or Not Contains and the property value by which you want to filter.

Grouping Options

If multiple projects are selected, the data is automatically grouped by project name. In addition, you can group reported data according to the following attributes.

Property	Description
Time Interval	This option groups the data by the selected time period. A line chart must have a time interval group by parameter selected.
User Property	This option groups the data by the selected user property. Users are grouped by the property value in their user profile.

Note: The line and bar charts are two-dimensional and, therefore, can be grouped by two attributes. Thus, when multiple projects are selected, only one other Grouping By property may be chosen.

Reporting Options

Enter a title for the report display and specify whether to allow users to export reports. You can also specify whether to allow users to enter custom date ranges.

Managing Access to Plumtree Analytics Portlets

Plumtree Analytics portlets are intended to make usage metrics visible to a limited set of users who perform particular business functions, such as capacity planning, QoS analysis, ROI analysis, "best bet" customization for Search, and the like. Portal administrators should create a special administrative group and manage group membership to ensure only a limited number of users can access the portlets created from the Plumtree Analytics Portlet Templates. Guest users should never be allowed to add Analytics portlets.
