The settings on this page show this content crawler how to assign content types to imported content. When a content crawler finds a new document, it starts at the top of this list and looks for an extension that matches that document. It uses the content type that is mapped to the first matching extension. If it cannot find a matching extension, it does not import the document.
By default, this page is populated with the mappings from the Global Content Type Map. All the mapped file extensions are grouped by the available types of documents; for example, the MIME Type Map displays the mapped file extensions for Web pages and the File Type Map displays the mapped file extensions for files.
You can perform the following actions to change the mappings for this content crawler:
To add a mapping to this list, under the appropriate
type map grouping, click 
New
Identifier; then, in the Identifier
Editor, type the file extension, choose a content type, and click
Finish. The new mapping displays
at the bottom of the list.
To create a new content type to map to a new or
existing extension, click 
Create
Content Type; then, in the Content
Type Editor, choose a document accessor and click Finish.
To remove a mapping, select the mapping and click
.
To select or clear all of the mapping check boxes, select or clear the box to the left of Identifiers.
To change the order of mappings, perform any of the following actions in the Priority column:
